Counties Support for Schools Tag Festival

ENGLAND Counties players and coaches took time off from preparations for their game against the Ulster Bank International to look in on the Preston Primary Schools Tag competition at Preston Grasshoppers.

The festival, which acts as a qualifying event for the Lancashire Tag finals to be held at Lightfoot Green on April 26th, was won by Our Ladies St Edwards Primary School, who won a thrilling final 6-5 against St Edwards St Mary’s Primary to reach the Lancashire showpiece.

Eleven school entered the tournament and had an enthusiastic band of Counties players on the sidelines to supplement the support of parents and teachers.

Players and coaching staff mingled with the schools, offering tips and support from the touchline throughout the group stages and then presented the trophies.
