England Deaf Rugby Family Day

Date: 13 July 2014

This event has now been postponed until a later date. Once we know the new date we will update the article.

England Deaf Rugby Union is offering the opportunity for all deaf and hard of hearing people with an interest in playing rugby union the opportunity to train with its coaches and team members at Preston Grasshoppers.

Bring the family down on Saturday 2nd August to come and try rugby.

Whether you have played before or you are looking to pick up a ball for the first time, there will be a number of coaches on hand who will cater for all levels.

Boys and girls, men and women will all have the opportunity to be shown how to get started in rugby and we will have our non-contact version of the game available. For those playing for the first time, why not have a go at O2 Touch – no previous experience needed!

The day starts at 10.30am with a brief introduction outlining all of the opportunities available for getting involved in rugby.

Participants will receive a complimentary lunch and the opportunity to chat to members of the England Deaf Men’s and Women’s Team. In the afternoon you can run out and train with them including our very own 1st XV prop forward Peter Altham.
