Ladies win at Hull

Date: 04 March 2015

Hoppers posted their fifth win of the season at Hull on Sunday. From the start they put pressure on the Hull defence and after 10 minutes were rewarded with a try form Olivia who went over in the corner after a good combination between the forwards and the backs.

The next 20 minutes were hotly contested with Hoppers pressing for a further score but Hull’s defence holding firm. Hopper’s forwards continued to dominate the loose, providing the backs with good ball which they used to good effect. Tries by Emily in the 25th minute and Pond after 28 minutes saw Hoppers extend their lead to 15 points and the conversion from Kady saw the lead increased to 17-0. Hull were definitely on the back foot at this point and Hoppers went on the score additional tries through Olivia and Sarah before half time.

The second half saw Hull determined to put some points on the board but were frustrated by Hoppers defence which held firm throughout the second half. After 70 minutes, Danielle ripped the ball from the tackle and after beating two defenders found herself 30 metres from the line. With no support available she put her head down and sprinted for the line to score a brilliant individual try to make the final score 32-0.
