Greenwood on Hoppers

Date: 01 January 2012

Former Hopper Will Greenwood has made reference to his old club and recent team mate Sean Long in his column for the Daily Telegraph.

On Friday, Will wrote

‘I got to live the dream one final time, and got to use my old peg in the Twickenham changing room. The Help for Heroes game was a great cause and I met some incredible men and women from our Armed Forces. I also got to fulfil one of my ambitions – to play in a back line with Sean Long, the former St Helens and Great Britain rugby league legend, a player I was desperate for Clive Woodward to poach a decade ago. Still, better late than never, and Long remains a genius. If Preston Grasshoppers need an old duffer of a centre to partner him later this season, drop me a line.’

We could see Will in a Hoppers shirt again before the season is out!
