This weekend, Hoppers Ladies will be playing a 2nd team fixture against Bury Ladies, a team under the tutelage of our very own 1st team head coach Paul Arnold in a development game at Lightfoot Green.
With the 22 strong squad made up of new players and a sprinkling of the more experienced kind returning from injury this is a big step towards establishing a regular 2nd team for the section with a view to regular league rugby in the future. The side, led by Rachel Dennison, wife of senior player Tony and daughter of ex 1st team player Alan Wylie, look forward to continuing to break new ground in the journey towards that goal.
Bury will prove tough opponents but with the enthusiasm from both teams high, Sunday promises to be worthwhile session for both sides and for the women’s game as a whole in the region.
