It is with great regret that we announce the death of Preston Grasshoppers’ Honorary Secretary, Ian Mackay after a short illness. Although Ian had been diagnosed with bowel cancer some weeks ago, it was deemed treatable and he was due to begin a course of chemotherapy on August 17th. However, his condition deteriorated and he died in hospital in the early hours of Thursday, 16th August.
Condolences go out to Ann and children Lyndsey and Andrew.
The funeral is at Christchurch, Victoria Road, Fulwood, Preston at 2.00 pm Thursday, 23rd August 2012 followed by committal at Preston Crematorium and afterwards at the club.
A minutes silence was held by the 1st XV at training on Tuesday and another will be observed before the pre season games against Tynedale on Saturday.
