Head Coach Garth Dew said ‘After successful games for both squads against Sale on Friday night these fixtures are another good opportunity to try out different combinations ahead of our first league game against Hull on September 6th.

A number of changes have been made to the squads to give everyone a fair chance, though we are stressing that every player remains in contention for a 1st XV place against Hull regardless of selection this week. We have deliberately planned two tough games for the lads and this is their last chance to stake a claim for the start of the season.

I was impressed with both performances last week in particular the defensive efforts and commitment levels, and I hope the lads continue in this fashion whilst fine tuning their attacking patterns and set piece on Thursday night.

A number of players are returning from injury or unavailability this week and I’m sure we will have a number of selection headaches next week which is always a good problem to have.’

Support at both games will be greatly appreciated by all the players.
