Hoppers General Manager Resigns

Date: 01 May 2019

Many of you will know that Richard Ellis our General Manager is making a remarkable recovery from his major life changing surgery; but there is a long way to go.

He recently recommenced work on three days a week. He and his wife Helen have reluctantly come to the conclusion that his recovery will have a much better chance if he does not carry the burden and responsibility of being General Manager. Accordingly with a heavy heart he has tendered his resignation which we have reluctantly accepted.

Richard commented “I have really enjoyed my 7 years working at Preston Grasshoppers and it will be a big wrench to leave.  I have been overwhelmed by the support received from the club membership and committee . My heartfelt thanks go to everyone who messaged, wrote or offered support in any way. In particular I would like to thank Hugh Duckworth, George Erdozain, Graham Cox and Martin Hothersall who could not have done more to support me and my family”

Richard has done an outstanding job for the club over the last seven years and has overseen substantial growth and progress. He will be sorely missed. We do however hope to see him at the club frequently and he knows that he will receive a very warm welcome. We wish Richard and his family all the best for the future.

The club has commenced its search for a new General Manager. If any member is interested in this opportunity please Contact Graham Cox our Hon secretary.

Richard will work out his period of notice and has offered every assistance in finding and supporting his successor.

George Erdozain

Chairman
