We have some great music lined up for Hopfest 2019 throughout the Friday and Saturday to get the party going!

Friday

7.30pm Blues Harvest Accoustic

Blues Harvest are the galaxy’s greatest party band for geek events, having played their blend of Star Wars parodies and movie soundtrack songs in comic-cons, space centres and cantinas across the world.

Fronted by comic book illustrator Nick Brokenshire (Star Wars Adventures / Dark Horse / 2000AD / IDW) this geek-rock outfit have performed Ghostbusters with Ray Parker Jr, gigged at Disneyland Paris and recently blasted into hyperspace with a show at Star Wars Celebration Chicago.

Performing a special acoustic set especially for Hopfest 2019, no matter what planet you’re from, you’re guaranteed a great time with Blues Harvest piloting the ship!

8.30pm Templebys

The Templebys recipe – a large measure of Soul , a generous helping of funk, and a splash of acid jazz . The sort of cocktail that gets your heart pumping, your feet grooving and your booty shaking. Have a look at The Templebys’ Facebook page here.

9.30pm Hornbeats

A nine piece covers band playing classic soul and rock n roll! Expect horns, beats and a jolly good time. These guys will get the party going and keep the dance floor full. The Hornbeats’ Facebook page is here.

Saturday

1pm – Sean Keefe

Militant hat wearer, slide guitarist, Strumstick player, comedy yarner and genre-mash novelist Sean Keefe – brings along his own version of honky-tonk Americana” – Dann Chinn, Misfit City. Find out more about Sean on his website here.

2pm – Corvidae

Acoustic covers duo playing Ella Fitzgerald to Bruce Springsteen & Johnny Cash to Bon Iver. Covering Blues, Folk, Pop, Rock, Indie and lots in between. Their Facebook page is here.

3pm – Teri Birtwistle

Exceptional Singer/songwriter from Darwen. Loop pedal magic and soaring vocals. Sometimes folk, sometimes blues, always beautiful. You can arrive at Teri’s Facebook page by clicking here.

4pm – Jamie Brewer

BBC Introducing – “Jamie Brewer is a phenomenal guitar playing talent and a must see performer. “

5pm – Matt Gallagher

One of Preston’s most talented singer-songwriter-bass-keys-guitar-playing-session musician and all round good egg. Jack of all trades and master of…most, to be honest. There are some details about Matt here.

6.30pm – Pancake

A 5 piece steel band from Lancashire playing a variety of classic Caribbean and Latin to pop covers. Everything from Boney M to Harry Belafonte and from Stevie Wonder to Adele! Come and join us for a calypso/soca party with PANCAKE STEEL BAND who promise to bring a little Caribbean sunshine and a big smile with them to Preston! Pancake’s Facebook page is right here.

8pm – Supergiant

Supergiant’s sound is hammond heavy with funky riffs a plenty. There are vocal tracks interspersed with instrumentals and the groove is at the heart and soul of everything they do. They reference many artists but what comes out of the melting pot is like no other.

Their influences range far and wide including The Meters, Talking Heads, Beck, Can, James Brown, Corduroy, Beastie Boys and Booker T to the 1970s film soundtracks of Lalo Schifrin and the eras Blaxploitation movies.

9.30pm – Saraban

A Preston based band with a wide range of songs and genres from jazz to pop and indie to rock. They’ll do songs that’ll make you say, ‘I haven’t heard that in ages! I love that song!’ Saraban’s website is just a click away.
