The Development XV replaces the club’s former 3rd XV, a side that enjoyed a hugely successful five years with league promotions, cup victories and plenty of memorable moments. They leave behind a fantastic platform for the next generation to build on.

Leading the group as Head Coach is Ben Mark, who brings plenty of enthusiasm, fresh ideas and a real passion for developing players. Joining him as Assistant Player Coaches are three familiar faces around the club: Stu Woodhouse, who’ll lead from the centres, Adam Brogan, bringing his experience to the front row, and Tom Lyth – a man who needs little introduction and will have his playing boots back on in no time!

The coaching team won’t be working alone either. They’ll be supported by the Colts coaching group, along with the 1st XV and 2nd XV coaches, helping to deliver sessions, share their experience and create a joined-up approach to player development across the club.

The aim of the Development XV is clear – to strengthen the pathway from our Mini & Junior section into senior rugby. We want to give young players the opportunity to keep developing, enjoy their rugby and make the step into senior rugby with confidence.

This is an exciting step for Preston Grasshoppers and another investment in the future of our club. By bringing our coaching groups closer together and creating clear opportunities for players to progress, we’re building a stronger club both on and off the pitch.
