It is with great sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of Daniel Holden, a former mini junior and much loved current senior player.
Danny was a fantastic character, full of life, laughter, and positivity. He made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed by all within the club and the wider community.
Danny's brother Harry will bravely take to the field on Saturday, showing immense strength of character and honouring what Danny would have wanted. If you see Harry, please show him your support.
This weekend, please ensure your team holds a minute’s silence before their matches in memory of Danny, as a mark of respect for his life and contribution to the club.
As a rugby family, let’s continue to look out for each other, not just now, but always. especially in the quieter moments.
A funeral mass to honour and celebrate Daniel's life will take place on Tuesday 16th September at 2.30pm at St Thomas of Canterbury Roman Catholic Church, followed by a committal at Overdale Crematorium, West Chapel, at 4.00pm.
His family has requested family flowers only, please. Donations in Daniel's memory may be made to Bolton Mountain Rescue. There's no dress code - no formality, please just come as you are. That's exactly how Daniel would have wanted it.
