Jennings arrives at Lightfoot Green with a wealth of top-level experience, having made almost 100 appearances for Sale Sharks and represented England at Under-16, Under-18 and Under-20 level during his professional career.

The powerful centre was widely regarded as one of the brightest young talents in English rugby and made 60 Premiership appearances during his time in the professional game.

Jennings also reunites with new player-coach Matt Sturgess, with the pair having previously played together during their professional careers at Sale Sharks. The existing relationship was one of several factors that helped attract the former Sale Sharks centre to Lightfoot Green and provided an immediate connection with the club.

His signing represents another exciting step for our club as preparations continue for the forthcoming campaign, with Mark bringing a combination of top-level experience, resilience and determination to the squad.”

Jennings has spoken openly in recent years about the personal challenges that interrupted his playing career, including struggles with mental health and addiction. Since stepping away from the professional game, he has worked hard on his recovery and used his experiences to help raise awareness of the importance of mental wellbeing.

Speaking about his move to Lightfoot Green, Jennings added: "Joining Preston Grasshoppers gives me the opportunity to start an exciting new chapter in my career, and I'm looking forward to the challenge ahead.

“From my first training session, I could see the standards the club sets, the ambition everyone has to keep moving forward, and the great culture that's been built around the club. I already know a lot of the lads in the squad, which has made settling in really easy. It's a tight-knit group with a great atmosphere.

"My time away from the game has given me the opportunity to put everything into perspective and realise how passionate I still am about rugby, and how much I missed being out on the pitch. I still feel I've got a lot left to give in rugby union. I'm hungry to play my best rugby, use my experience to help the team however I can, and I'm excited to see what we can achieve together this season."
