John Hutchings has put pen-to-paper for the upcoming season. Like Billy Glover, another recent signing, John brings a wealth of high-level rugby league experience with him. John recently played for Salford City Reds, and his previous clubs include Workington Town, Oldham, Rochdale, and St Helen’s Academy as a young player.
John said,” I’m buzzing to be given the opportunity to play rugby union, especially at a club with a rich history like Preston Grasshoppers. It’s an awesome set-up to be involved in, and the standards were set high from day 1. Hopefully my league knowledge can be a positive for the team, and I look forward to the challenges and good times ahead.”
On signing John, Dan Orwin said, “John was recommended to us as someone who could have a big impact for us with the way he plays, particularly his ball carrying. He joins us off the back of a rugby league season and we are keen to see what he can do in the preseason games. He is a great character and is keen to learn as much as possible about the game to help his transition from rugby league. He will be a great addition to our squad.”
