Hugh Duckworth, Chairman of Mini Junior and Colts Rugby, is pleased to announce the appointment of Oliver Parkinson as Coaching Co-ordinator for the section, with effect from 01 August 2024.

The principal areas of responsibility are as follows:

• Monitor performance and support the 100+ coaching team, with a specific focus on compliance and development
• Provide transitional support to players in all age groups on and off the field, whilst fully subscribing to the rugby core values and safeguarding protocols
• Manage First Aid support, embracing the club first aiders, the UCLan student volunteers and the contracted first responders
• Introduce strength and conditioning, and gym sessions to the 15+ age groups. Plus an increased focus on fitness in training sessions. At the same time ensure coaches receive additional training in correct procedures
• Active involvement in the administration and management of the section

Hugh concluded by wishing Oliver every success, and looked forward to the planned focus on the coaching team resulting in a consistently high standard of rugby being enjoyed by boys and girls in all age groups.
