Both sides have seen a number of new faces arrive over the Summer with several taking to the field last week for the opening round of the season. Fylde drew 22-22 at home to Hull Ionians whilst Hoppers put in an impressive second half performance to beat Billingham 46-24.

Reflecting on the game, Hoppers Head Coach Dan Orwin said "At half-time, we discussed the adjustments needed to better contain their attack, and in the second half, we were able to pull away. While there are still areas to improve, we were pleased with how the team adapted and overcame the challenge."

Looking ahead to the Fylde game Orwin added "Fylde are consistently among the top teams in the league and are always a tough opponent. We believe our new signings have added real quality, and if we get our performance right, we believe that this is a winnable game for us. This week, our focus has been entirely on ourselves, getting our detail right, and preparing for the challenges Fylde will bring."
