The hosts started alertly with Owain Williams going over and Sam Freeman converting to create an early 7-0 lead.

Dan Orwin’s side added to their advantage when Ellis Causey bundled over making it 12-0.
The winless visitors showed some resilience to reduce the lead to five when Will Dark converted Dan Longden’s score.

Williams doubled his tally when he scored from a powerful lineout drive.

Freeman gave the hosts a healthy 20-7 lead at the half with a penalty kick.

The wheels well and truly fell off the Scunthorpe wagon in the second half as a rampant Grasshoppers side scored eight tries in the last 40 minutes to secure a comfortable win and a bonus point.

Sam Freeman and Billy Glover both got tries whilst Jacob Browne added a second half brace too.

Williams also added another earning himself a well-deserved hat-trick as did hooker Harry Holden who scored three tries in the second half with the final score line reading 74-7

Scunthorpe will look to bounce back next week when they host Fylde meanwhile Preston Grasshoppers will look to continue their momentum as they travel to Tynedale.
