Preston Grasshoppers returned to winning ways with an emphatic 66-26 win over Darlington Mowden Park
It was the visitors who struck first however Ben Douglas with the early try.
That would be the only lead they’d have though, a great steal from Josh Longson on the kick chase allowed to Hoppers make good use of the ball for Tom Ailes to go over.
Sam Freeman converted to level the scoring before giving Hoppers the lead with a magnificent solo try to give Hoppers a 14-7 lead.
Hoppers continued to make good use of the momentum, eating into DMP territory, a nice burst of pace from Owain Williams breaking the line for another Hoppers try.
It was the best start possible for the hosts in the second half, securing the try bonus point through Freeman who received a nice pass from Williams to get his second of the game.
A short lived DMP fight back occurred with tries for Douglas and Reuben Dyer but Hoppers put DMP to the sword for the remainder of the game.
Jacob Browne was next to get on the scoresheet thanks to a brilliant pass from Sammy Russell and he shortly doubled his tally a quick pass from Harrison Causey setting him up nicely.
Ailes also found his second try of the game after a brawling run from Harry Holden.
Darlington answered with a consolation try courtesy of James Bent before Browne got his hat-trick and Harrison Causey also found his way over for a try.
There was also time for debutant Charlie Attis to play a great over the top pass for Tom Walker, who was returning to the side after time away, to get a try.
Sam Freeman had a great conversion game, 8/10 for Hoppers who take all 5 points.
