Hoppers started fast, Harry Holden going over from a line-out within the first five minutes
The visitors replied with a try of their own through Ben Crowe, converted by Jamie Rudd.
It was three tries in the first ten minutes when Tom Ailes put Hoppers back in front after shrugging off a Tigers defender, his try converted by Sam Freeman.
Tigers levelled it up not long after, Lonny Fenton getting his first of the game.
It wasn't level for long, Holden with a great steal from an overthrown Tigers line-out before breaking two tackles to score his 2nd for the hosts.
A penalty from Rudd and a try from Miles Dodsworth gave the Yorkshire side the 20-19 lead at the half.
Hoppers asserted themselves in the second half, a penalty and a try from Freeman who showed off his blistering pace, with a try from the also speedy Owain Williams too, giving the hosts a 36-20 lead with 20 minutes left to play.
Sheffield Tigers wouldn't go down easy, both Fenton and Dodsworth getting their second tries and a 79th minute penalty from Rudd had the visitors thinking they'd be leaving Lancashire with all five points.
That was before Hoppers were awarded a penalty for obstruction on the kick chase, allowing Freeman to seal the game and all five points in the final minute and make it a hat-trick of wins.
The final score Hoppers 39 to Tigers 37.
Hoppers will look to make it four in a row when they head to Scunthorpe next time out.
