First Half

- Hoppers held the stats for possession and territory in the first half using the wind and hill to their advantage. Despite having a superior line out and scrum the away team were not able to convert in the ‘red zone’ which lead to only a 2 point lead at half time. The home team showed some great open play skills which always kept the hoppers team on their toes.

Second Half

- Much of the same second half with powerful runs from the Wigan 12 and 20 who became an increasing thorn in the side of the hoppers defence. Hoppers always kept in the fight and kept the scoreline close with some brilliant cover defence from the backs saving numerous tries with their brilliant wort rate and determination (notable mentions to Olly S, Dylan, Cam and Jacob).

- Credit must go to the Wigan lads who stuck at it all game and showed quality to get over the white line when needed. A special mention to the two Hoppers lads who pulled on a Wigan shirt to keep the game at 15 a side brilliant to see great sportsmanship like this in a competitive game.
- As for the Hoppers lads, we know what we need to improve on and will work hard in the week. With the tour looming, it's important we keep focused on the tough challenge next week with Kendal to bounce back.
