After the weather beating us in early January, we were finally able to get out on the pitch in pursuit to continue the momentum that started to gather before Christmas.
Wind was still a big factor on the day, making the ball hard to catch with Preston wanting to get the ball wide where possible and North Ribblesdale looked to counter this with a good aggressive press from the ruck to the inside centre to prevent this from happening. Early try's from both teams had the game finely poised bringing the score to almost mirror the full time result of our last encounter.
Into the second half and another anxious, well fought, hard hitting 20 minutes before Preston managed to beat the press with hard drives on the line and flying wingers taking advantage of the space to score under the posts. Confidence grew but North Ribblesdale still fought and put pressure on Preston. Another try and conversion at the final whistle took Preston to 5 try's and a win, however, this did not reflect the brutal nature of the game, with many knocks to both sides and how hard North Ribblesdale made it for Preston with their defensive work and efforts in the contact area. 33-12 the final score, 3 wins on the bounce for Preston as we prepare for Old Crossleyans away and game number 2 of 7 on back-to-back weekends.
