2nd XV Friday Night at Fylde

Date: 18 March 2013

The second team look to maintain their place at the summit of the Bateman Premier League as they travel to The Woodlands on Friday evening for another clash with the Fylde Hawks. Hoppers enjoyed a comprehensive victory when the sides met back in the Autumn and their second half performance saw them play some of their best rugby of the season.

The Hawks enter the fixture in confident mood based upon some encouraging results that have seen them reach third place in Conference A and within touching distance of both Hoppers and second place Macclesfied. In fact the chatter on social media in recent weeks indicates they have been looking towards this week’s match as a springboard for potential championship success. Early indications are that they’ve picked a strong squad, the strength being their outside backs who have a reputation for attacking rugby.

Young’s men enter the match in fine fettle having defied last week’s injury crisis to reach the Raging Bull Cup Final. However, given the time of year, injuries, social commitments and vacations mean that the senior squad is at full stretch.

Young is still able to select a strong match day eighteen although the finishing touches will not e confirmed until tomorrow morning. Meet time for the matchday squad at Lightfoot Green is 5.30 or 6.15 at The Woodlands in readiness for a 7.45 kick off. The Hoppers lads would appreciate as much support as possible in what is sure to be an entertaining night. Please pay attention to social media given the weather forecast.
