2nd XV head to Chester

Date: 29 March 2013

The second team hit the road again this Saturday with an Easter showdown against Chester. Following last Friday’s well deserved win over neighbours Fylde, Young’s men travel to Cheshire looking for their fourth victory (in all competitions) against a side that have acquitted themselves well this season. Chester boast a powerful set of forwards and given that their first team have a week off this weekend Hoppers are likely to have their work cut out.

However a victory for the champions will put Young’s tyros in the box seat once more with three games left to play.

Selection has been challenging this week and will not be finalised until Thursday or Friday. It is likely that the bulk of the pack who dominated Fylde will once again be involved but the Hoppers back line is likely to be much changed. The Easter weekend, representative commitments and injuries have put the wider squad under severe pressure but Preston will still make the journey south in confident but considered mood.
