2nd XV host Lymm

Date: 26 October 2012

The second team look to make it eight straight when they take on Lymm at Lightfoot Green this Saturday afternoon. Young’s men are buoyed after last week’s comprehensive and thoroughly deserved victory over local rivals Fylde. However one swallow doesn’t make a summer and despite what may have been suggested in some quarters there has been no hint of complacency at training this week. Hoppers might be league champions but trophies aren’t handed out in October and everybody in Young’s squad know there is a long way to go before they can even consider retaining their title.

In recent seasons Lymm have proved tough opposition but they will travel up the M6 hoping to improve on a somewhat mixed start to their Bateman Premier League campaign.

Such is the strength of Young’s squad that he can call upon the likes of Alan Martindale, Alex Austin, Matt Hughes and the recently signed Ian Sibbett. The former Super League star was due to play at the Woodlands last weekend bit was ruled out due to illness. Russ Flynn and Matt Conway picked up injuries against Fylde last weekend so Yates moves to half-back whilst Andy Pollock comes onto the replacements bench following a shoulder injury.

If Hoppers can maintain their excellent form they will keep pace with league leaders Caldy who ruthlessly dispatched Sedgley Park last weekend.

Kick off is 3pm and with the first team away the lads would welcome your support. Meet time is 1.30 and the full squad is as follows:

Matt Lowes
Alan Martindale
Rich Morton
Terry McGuire
John Wells
Alex Austin
Andy Napier
Ally Murray
Ollie Yates
Mark Murray
Matt Hughes
Ian Sibbit
Cam Berry
Matt Gargett
Harry Reddick

Reps: John Peterson, Sam Gale, Andy Pollock.
