2nd XV host Sedgley

Date: 19 September 2013

The second team are the early pacesetters in the Bateman Premier League and on Saturday they welcome old rivals Sedgley Tigers to Lightfoot Green.

The visitors were once the dominant force in the Bateman Premier but have struggled in the last 12-18 months. Despite losing their first two games they will still present a formidable challenge for Young’s men and there is no room for complacency in the Preston ranks.

With the senior squad seemingly beset by an early Autumn injury crisis Young is forced into making numerous changes from the eighteen man squad that ran Burnage ragged last Saturday.

Hoppers are however in a strong position as the changes by no means weaken the strength of the squad. There are welcome returns for Russ Flynn, Cam Berry, Ryan Marshall, Luke Proctor and notably the newly graduated Harry Reddick. The centre has spent the summer travelling in South East Asia but has found work in the Preston area. Everybody at Lightfoot Green is pleased to see Harry back in the fold as he enjoyed an exceptional season last time round.

The squad meet at 1.30pm in readiness for a 3.00pm kick off at the Green. As ever there may be some late changes in the next 36 hours but the full squad is as follows:

Madden, Wilkinson, McGuiness, Banks, Perry, Farley, Lees. Proctor. Moulding. Murray. Hughes. Flynn. Reddick. Rhodes-Powers. Marshall. Mabaya. Berry. Trueman. Young
