2nd XV look for 10

Date: 05 November 2012

With Saturday’s shirts barely dry, the unbeaten second team brace themselves for a trip down the East Lancs Road to face Liverpool St Helens on Tuesday evening. The game was postponed a few weeks back due to the torrential October rain which water-logged the St Helens pitch. Victory for Young’s men will see them take the outright lead in the Bateman Premier League, leapfrogging an impressive looking Caldy side in the process.

Hoppers name the same pack as Saturday’s victory over Birkenhead Park whilst the backs are unchanged with the exception of Ian Sibbit who comes into inside-centre. As a result Mark Murray moves to full-back whilst Ollie Yates drops to the bench at the expense of Tom Hurst. Oga Mabaya returns from suspension to take a place amongst the replacements as Matty Lowes is unavailable.

Hoppers have no game this weekend as they have been given a bye in the first round of the Raging Bull Cup. As a result they will be hoping for a strong performance in readiness for what looks like a mouth watering clash with Caldy at Lightfoot Green on the 17th November.

Young’s men are due to meet at 5.30pm at Lightfoot Green or 6.15pm at LSH. Kick off is scheduled for 7.45 and the full squad is as follows:

John Peterson
Alan Martindale
Richard Morton (c)
Alex Austin
Craig Steel
Andy Napier
Killian Wallace
Sam Gale
Matt Conway
Lewis Allen
Anthony Elliott
Ian Sibbit
Harry Reddick
Andrew Pollock
Mark Murray

Reps: Oga Mabaya, Terry McGuire, Ollie Yates.
