2nd XV look for win number 6

Date: 04 October 2012

The table topping twos face their Liverpool St Helens counterparts in what should be a competitive yet winnable Friday night fixture. Young’s men travel down the East Lancs Road for a 7.45pm kick off knowing that a victory will all but clinch their spot in Conference A of the Bateman Premier League.

Selection has been highly competitive and Hoppers could have easily travelled to St Helen’s with a squad of twenty two rather than the eighteen that they have gone with. A number of the squad are extremely unfortunate not to be travelling but will doubtless boost the third team who themselves have a tasty looking fixture against Sedgley Park.

The seconds are strengthened by Ally Murray, Lewis Allen and Matt Gargett who all travelled with the first team to Westoe last week. Sam Gale and Russ Flynn also come into the eighteen after being unavailable for last weekend’s win over Vale of Lune and are amongst the replacements. Meanwhile, Alex Austin is rewarded for his good form in recent weeks and is with the first team who face Birmingham Solihull at Lightfoot Green. Don’t forget to find out how the lads got on by following us on Twitter, Facebook and on the website!

For those assembling at Lightfoot Green the meet time is 5.30 whilst those travelling direct to St Helens are advised to be there for as close to 6.15pm as possible. Please be advised that the usual pre and post match dress codes apply. The squad in full is as followed:

Josh Thundercliffe
Alan Martindale
Dan Madden
Dan Fletcher
Jon Wells
Oga Mabaya
Will Keenan
Ally Murray
Matt Conway
Lewis Allen
Antony Elliott
Cameron Berry (Captain)
Olly Yates
Matt Gargett
Harry Reddick

Reps: Sam Gale, Andrew Pollock, Russ Flynn.
