2nd XV look to sweep Fylde

Date: 10 April 2015

After two consecutive away defeats that saw their title aspirations crumble, the second team return to Lightfoot Green on Saturday for a derby against neighbours Fylde.

Young’s men have already beaten the men from The Woodlands twice this season and are looking to secure a season sweep. An entertaining fixture should be in order whilst those involved last time around will still remember the drama of Hoppers’ last gasp victory a couple of months ago.

With the league beyond their reach Hoppers will be looking to regain form and confidence ahead of the cup final on May 2nd. Therefore a victory would provide far more than just local bragging rights.

Young has a strong side at his disposal with kick off scheduled for 3pm. Jack Wilkinson makes his first appearance since his call up to the England Counties squad whilst young Jack Edwards makes his senior bow. Many at Lightfoot Green will recall Jack’s father Ted, who wore the blue and white with such distinction.
