The second team travel down the M60 tomorrow afternoon for a tough looking fixture against Sale FC. With the atmospheric Heywood Road waterlogged, the match will be played at the plush surroundings of Carrington where FC share training facilities with Sale Sharks.
City & United are the noisy neighbours whilst FC will be hoping to upset the Hoppers applecart and put paid to Coach Young’s title hopes. Preston have lost two of last week’s star performers as Truman & Davies have been promoted. Additionally Jack Walker is unavailable but Young can at least call on the likes of McGuinness, Peterson, Gargett and Flynn.
Preston’s list of enforced absentees remains longer than Lightfoot Lane whilst Sale’s first team have a week off. Therefore Young and his men know they are in for a tough battle. Kick off is arranged for 2pm with the squad convening at 12.30 in Carrington. The match day squad in full is as follows:
