The seconds will be looking to maintain their winning start to the season and consolidate their position at the top of the league. Hoppers welcome Josh Purnell to the club and hand a home debut to Charles Hostier from France. UCLan student Harry Reddick also returns after a handful of games last season. The seconds are in an exceptionally strong position and still have the likes of Dave Chadwick, Liam Launders, Dan Fletcher, Will Keenan, Sam Whyte, Doug Grimes, Alan Howarth, Josh Keay, Terry McGuire to return. This strength in depth bodes well for the first team and the competition in the senior squad is extremely healthy. Compared to the dark days of last season this can only be a good thing in an attritional season where injuries and other circumstances will take their toll. There is little doubt that everybody will have a positive role to play.
