2nd XV welcome Caldy

Date: 15 November 2012

The second team emulate their first team counterparts this Saturday as they entertain Caldy at Lightfoot Green. Young’s men sit at the summit of the Bateman Premier League knowing that only a thrashing of epic proportions will see their visitors leapfrog them into top spot. The men from Paton Field are hot on Hoppers heels and the squad believe that Saturday’s encounter represents their biggest match of the season.

Rich Morton has been promoted to the first team with Chris Gale moving the other way whilst Cameron Berry returns at the expense of the injured Ian Sibbit. Meanwhile Ollie Yates comes in at full back as Mark Murray has tweaked a hamstring and that means a place on the bench for Josh Oldland. In the only other change Matt Lowes joins the bench with Oga Mabaya being rotated.

In other news Hoppers have been drawn at home to Chester in the quarter-final of the Raging Bull Cup. Hoppers will be thankful of a home tie but Chester knocked out the holders Sedgley Park and they will travel to Preston on the 1st December hoping for another “scalp”.

Kick off the second team this Saturday is scheduled for 2.15pm and the full squad is as follows:

Gale C
Martindale
Peterson
Austin
Steel
Napier
Wallace
Gale S
Conway
Allen
Elliott
Berry (c)

Reps: Lowes, McGuire, Oldland.
