2nds host Stockport

Date: 29 March 2012

The second team face Stockport at Lightfoot Green on Saturday (petrol panic permitting) as they look to keep alive their title chances. Hoppers cannot afford any slip ups although Stockport will be intent on reversing the result of the fixture that took place just two weeks ago. Mike Lough’s men fought off a great Stockport comeback to prevail in a cracking match which yielded best part of seventy points. Sedgley travel to strugglers Fylde and will be looking to bounce back from last Saturday’s reverse. Champions Macclesfield who still have a chance of winning the title have a week off and will be keeping one eye Saturday’s fixtures.

Once again Hoppers second team make allowances for injuries, representative call ups, vacations and in the case of Allen, Hughes and Wallace a trip to Hull Ionians with the first team. However they still field an exceptionally strong side with Richie Sands, Josh Purnell, Harry Reddick, Tom Grimes and Alan Martindale all returning to second team action. Additionally, prop Dan Madden makes his first appearance for Lough’s men having impressed for the third team last weekend. Madden has been training hard with the first team squad over the past few months and gets his chance after a lengthy injury lay off.

Kick off is scheduled for 3pm at Lightfoot Green and the lads would appreciate your support. The squad is meeting at 2pm and is follows:

Mark Irving
Richie Sands
Dan Madden
Jack Banks
Jason Dyson
Dan Fletcher
Sam Gale
Ally Murray
