2nds still in the hunt

Date: 15 March 2012

The second team’s two pronged attack for silverware is approaching its zenith as Saturday sees a trip to Stockport. Victory for Hoppers will see them reach the summit of the Bateman Conference A just in time for next week’s clash with Sedgley. Stockport will pose a stiff test and were arguably the best side Lough’s men played before Christmas. The men from Lightfoot Green only came away from Bramhall with maximum points thanks to Jonny Mahon’s match saving tackle. Saturday’s game is a rearranged fixture after the game fell victim to the big freeze earlier in the winter.

Hoppers travel down the M60 in buoyant mood following their victory over Fylde and have picked a strong side. Richie Sands, Jack Banks, Alex Austin, Ally Murray, Connor Murphy and Mike Haley all return to second team action. Additionally Sam Madden and Sam Kindred both make their first appearances for Hoppers at senior level. Kick off is scheduled for 3pm, the squad are due to meet at 12.45pm at Hoppers or 2pm at Stockport. The squad in full is as follows:

Liam Launders
Richie Sands

Ally Murray
