Long-standing volunteer and match-day ever-present, John Powell, is stepping down as match-day coordinator after Saturday’s round of matches.
John, who has also been Hoppers’ fixture Secretary for 40 years, is a very familiar face around the club on match-day. He does all the things that “just happen” on the playing front, from liaising and hosting referees through to putting out corner flags. John is the epitome of a club volunteer who does what he does because he loves the game and Hoppers; not for recognition or reward. Hopefully, we’ll still see John on the terraces from time to time, but without the aggro of all that organising!

Micky Walker will be taking on the role. We wish him well, no pressure!
