Preston Grasshoppers is saddened to announce the death of Mick Hill who passed away suddenly at the weekend.
Mick played at fly half for the first team during the final years at the Lea ground before moving to play for our friends at Fylde. After retiring from playing, Mick was persuaded to join his old friend Malcolm Alden to coach the colts. He was involved in coaching for around 20 very successful years which included winning the Lancashire Cup 6 times out of 11 appearances in the final. he was also instrumental in coaching the colts 7 aside team. Mick had a very astute understanding of the game and always believed that it was the backs in a team who decided by how many points the game was won.
Mick will be sorely missed at the club and our deepest sympathies are with his family and friends at this time.
Mick’s funeral will take place on Friday 17th May at Broughton Church at 10.45am and thereafter at Preston Crematorium for family only at 12noon.
