2nd’s tough trip to Caldy

Date: 26 January 2012

Hoppers 2’s face Caldy at Paton Field in what promises to be a tough Conference A encounter. Lough’s men ruthlessly dispatched a young Caldy outfit back in in the Autumn but the men from the Wirral have improved vastly since then. They currently sit top of Conference A, the highlight being a win against Sedgley Park although they have played a game more.

Hoppers resources are stretched once more with injury depriving them of the likes of Alex Austin and the unfortunate Josh Purnell who hoped to return from a long term knee problem. However they can welcome back John Wells, Mark Rigbye and newly betrothed Cameron Berry who has spent the last month in Australia and his native New Zealand. The men from Lightfoot Lane also wait on the availability of Dan Fletcher and the fitness of Jack Banks but this will be finalised tomorrow.

Hoppers will be anxious to get their league campaign back to winning ways and maintain their unbeaten away record. Last week’s cup victory provided a timely boost following defeat in their most recent league game.

Meet time is 11.45 with kick off on the Wirral scheduled for 2.15. The full squad is as follows:

Oga Mabaya
