The coming 2013/14 season sees Preston Grasshoppers RFC begin their 40th campaign at Lightfoot Green following a move from Lea in 1973.
The club is grateful to Martin Hothersall and Bob Thompson who have provided a wonderful collection of photos, programmes and press clippings from the inaugural season at Lightfooot Green. To mark the occasion it is intended to have a Birthday Party on Saturday 14 September 2013 which is the 1st XV’s first home game of the season against Sedgeley Park. The idea is to get as many (ex)players as possible together for a re-union over lunch and to watch the match. It is hoped to put together a photo montage to show on the day which will include all teams and not just the 1st teams over the years. The cost involved is £17.50 which pays for a 3 course meal, admission to the game and a copy of the match programme.
We have started work on assembling lists of potential attendees but need to spread the word as widely as possible and need people to:
