PGRFC are delighted to announce the signing of free agent and former Super League player and Scotland RL international Alex Hurst.

Hurst 27, appeared for Scotland RL in both the 2013 Rugby League World Cup and 2014 European Championship. During his time in league he played for Swinton, London Broncos and London Skolars. He has dual code experience having had stints with Fylde, Sedgely Park and Rossendale and won schoolboy representative honours with England at 16 Group level.

A powerful centre or outside back, Hurst has over 60 National League appearances to his name as well as a further 60 appearances in professional rugby league.

Head Coach Paul Arnold said “Alex is a talented and dedicated player who will be able to use his experience to help improve an already talented group of players. I am looking forward to working with him. I played with him for Lancashire when he was a young guy and it was evident then that he was a talented player. He has since done well in rugby league and I am delighted he is joining us at Hoppers”.

Talking about his move to Lightfoot Green, Alex said “I am massively excited to be joining Preston and looking forward to ripping in with the lads. Having heard the vision and the ambitions for the season ahead I am keen that we meet those expectations. With the squad, coaching staff and facilities the club has, we should be aiming high next season”.

Welcome to Hoppers Alex!
