Blacksticks Blue Junior Challange Cup update

Date: 21 January 2013

The pool stages have now ended in this years Blacksticks Blue Cup and all of Hoppers Junior teams have qualified for the Quarter finals of the main cup competition.

The U13s were unbeaten, winning four of their games, and topped their group ahead of Sefton to earn a home draw in the Quarter finals. The U13s are looking to continue their winning ways in the Lancashire cup after winning at both U11s and U12s.

The U14s finished second in Pool 2 behind Manchester, losing only once, and edged out Ormskirk for an automatic Quarter final place – the nervy play-offs have been avoided but the U14s will face a tough challange to win their first Lancashire cup.

The U15s were unbeaten in topping Pool 1 winning three games to qualify for the Quarter finals. They finished above Manchester and Trafford MV and need to maintain this form to retain the trophy they won last year..

The U16s finished second in Pool 1, losing once to Pool winners Manchester, but finishing ahead of local rivals Fylde. The Under 16s are looking to retain the cup and make it three in a row and it looks likely that they will have to face and beat big rivals Manchester to achieve the feat.

The draw for the knockout stages of the Cup will be held on 24th Jan with matches to be played on 3rd March.

We wish all our Junior sides good luck in the next round.
