Bonfire Night Sell Out

Date: 07 November 2013

Tuesday evening saw Preston Grasshoppers RFC’s annual Bonfire Night & Fireworks take place. The evening proved to be a great success with a sell out crowd of nearly 4,000 in attendance. Once again reaction on social media proved to be very positive. You can see a selection of tweets we received at the bottom of this article.

General Manager Richard Ellis was delighted with the way the evening went “to safely and successfully stage Preston largest organised bonfire night event, takes a tremendous amount of hard work and planning.  The staff at Hoppers lead by Gill Parkinson, Allan Nutter, Alan Robertson and Richard Morton were superb.  The event does not run though without the club volunteers to steward the event, so thank you to all who helped on the night with good humour and willingness to get involved.”

This year we used online ticketing and the majority of tickets were sold in advance. This meant less queuing, but still unfortunately we sold out on the night and there were some disappointed people locked out.  To avoid disappointment next year the message is buy in advance early to guarantee entry!

The following companies also supplied excellent service to us for the event: Darrell Edwards, Graham Fisher’s Event Services, Taylor’s Funfairs, Road Safety Services and Security, Phenomenal Fireworks, Skiddle.com for ticketing, First Aid Plus and Jackson’s Skip Hire.  Thanks also for support of the Preston City Council, North West Ambulance Service, Lancashire Police and Lancashire Fire and Rescue.
