The second team face struggling Broughton Park at Lightfoot Green tomorrow. However the fixture depends on a 9.30 pitch inspection a this week’s inclement weather has laid down a lot of water. Some fixtures, including Broughton Park’s first team game, have already fallen foul of the downpours.
The match is the last Premier League fixture before the fourteen runners and riders split into two conferences. Hoppers have qualified comfortably for Conference A, with their disappointing aberration against the Tigers their only blip so far.
Hoppers are getting players back from injury so will look forward to the post Christmas sprint with gusto.
It’s been an encouraging few months with a lot of young players tasting their first experience of senior rugby whilst there have been a number of promotions to Garth Dew’s match day squads.
Young and his players are intent on earning some silverware this year after too many near misses.
