The club is pleased to confirm that after a long negotiation it has agreed the sale of the 1.7 acres of the front car park to care home developer North West Care Homes.
The developer will start construction of a 74 bed care home in April and it is anticipated to be complete in June 2019. Part of the deal negotiated with the developer is that they will construct a new 200 space match day car park (lit, drained, tarmacked and lined) at the rear of the club between pitches 1 and 2. This work is anticipated to commence on 26 March.
The proceeds of the sale will be ring-fenced and re-invested in improved facilities at the club as outlined a couple of years ago in the club’s development masterplan. Design feasibility studies have commenced with priority going into improved and extended café/bar style facility, new toilets, office shop and reception.
Match day parking arrangements will change, On Good Friday there will be no parking at the rear of the club and from mid-April the new parking facility should be open at the rear with limited parking at the front for the use of sponsors and officials. The club asks for your assistance and co-operation during this period when visiting the club.
