PGRFC have strengthened their squad with the arrival of three new faces. Hooker Alan Holmes arrives from neighbours Fylde, centre Andy Thornley joins from Sale Academy whilst UCLAN student Josh Purnell arrives having previously been part of the Northampton Saints academy.

The second team take a much changed squad to Lymm on Saturday. Tom Smith, Killian Wallace and Andy Napier have been promoted to the first team squad. The trio have played a key role in the second team’s unbeaten start to the season and will be keen to transfer their form to the bigger stage. 

Following last nights meeting of the clubs disciplinary panel, the panel decided not to suspend Dominic Moon following his sending off for two yellow cards in the weekends defeat at Luctonians. Hoppers 2’s 100 Penrith 2s 8 Mark Edwards bagged 25 points as the second team ran in 16 tries against a spirited Penrith side. Hoppers reached three figures for the first time this season on a pleasant Autumn afternoon and maintained their place at the top of the Bateman Premier League.
