We are delighted to announce the October winner of the “Club Player of the Month” award winner.
This award is given to a player who has played in the Club’s 3rd-6th XV section and has impressed a panel of judges (made up of the captains from those sides and the Head of Rugby Operations) with their dedication and approach during the previous month.
The October winner of the Club Player of the Month award is Andile Kalane. Having only taken the game up in the last couple of years, Andile has shown a great commitment to improving his game built on a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Having initially started his rugby journey with the 5th XV he has steadily improved to be on the fringes of the 2nd XV squad and has been a regular trainer with the Senior Squad to further improve his game.
The panel’s comments were “Andile’s journey embodies what our club is all about. Welcomed into the 5th XV to start his rugby education, he has picked up tips and advice from all parts of the club and through dedication he has steadily made his way up through the teams. His positive attitude and work ethic are an example to all. He didn’t miss a training session in October, did extras in his own time and took selection decisions positively by always putting the club before himself”.
