On the 16th January 2017, Preston Grasshoppers welcomed England Rugby head coach Eddie Jones to Lightfoot Green to officially launch the RFU’s artificial grass pitch.

The event drew a large crowd of members, sponsors and the general public, and was covered by both local and national media.
Jones gave a short speech where he described Hoppers as a ‘grand old club with a great history,’ and highlighted the role of the club in bringing through individuals such as rising star Mike Haley and highly respected England forwards coach Steve Borthwick.
Local junior players then enjoyed a run out on the new surface with Jones, one of the best coaches in the world, giving them a few pointers along the way.
The club would like to thank everyone who came and supported the event and all the volunteers who gave their time to ensure it ran smoothly.

The pitch is now available to book by clicking here, and is available for just £1/hour+VAT for the full pitch, or £0.50/hour+VAT for half a pitch, during January and February.
