A great time was had by all at the 2012 Sportsman’s dinner. Scott Quinnell, the Wales and British Lion, was the special guest speaker and entertained everyone with his stories of his time playing in both Union and League codes of rugby.
All money raised through the dinner will go to the Mini/Junior and Youth rugby section and will be spent on improving the facilities for the Mini/Junior rugby players at Hoppers. This year the money is intended to increase pitch space for the Mini teams.
Scott also presented ‘Knee high to a Grasshopper’ awards to 6 Junior players who have completed 10 continuous years of playing at Hoppers. Awards were given to Jamie McMillan, Alex Ward, Joe Tiffen, Graig Procter, Rory McCormack and Sadie Giles, all started at Under 7 (or before!) and are now in their last year as Junior players at Hoppers.
