PGRFC U14s vs Durham City

Date: 05 May 2014

Hoppers U14s  37*  Durham City U14s   7

The Under 14s hosted Durham City who were on tour to the Fylde coast this weekend, the tourists having sampled all the delights that Blackpool has to offer on Saturday afternoon and evening. Hoppers took full advantage of Durham’s resulting lethargy to storm into a lead with tries from Kieran, Ben and Duggie.

Durham’s coaches stirred their charges at half-time, and it was a more competitive second half, Hoppers still had the edge over Durham and tries from Harvey and Tom W with further tries for Kieran and Duggie re-inforced that superiority on the day.  Durham did score a well earned try after a period of pressure despite excellent defence from Hoppers.

Overall a good win for Hoppers against a Durham team that showed in patches what they were capable of, and apologies for the standard of this weeks report – who let our reporter go on holiday?

Durham retired to the clubhouse to indulge in normal post tour match pursuits, nominating Tom W as the Hoppers MoM and, in a shock move, sacked the Tour Court Judge and found him guilty of many heinous crimes!
