Under 10s have busy weekend

Date: 22 March 2016

Saturday 12th March vs Bowden

This weekend the under 10’s found themselves with an extra days rugby and thankfully the weather decided to play to allow this to happen.  With it came a touring team from Bowden, a team we have only previously seen at Manchester festival.

Hoppers were split into two teams to face up against two very excited teams from Bowden.  There was some really good rugby on show, with some excellent shape really starting to show both in attack and defence for Hoppers.  There were occasions in some of the games where players drifted a little and allowed Bowden to come onto us a bit, but overall it was excellent to see everyone really enjoy the day.

The outcome at the end of the session was 2 – 2 overall, with Bowden enjoying the hospitality provided and happily moving onto their next tour fixture.

Sunday 13th March vs Sedgley Park

With the good weather continuing, another Sunday came around with another cracking fixture, Sedgley Park, a team we have had some really good games against in the past.  An excellent number of Hoppers made the trip across, being able to split into three teams, to face up against the two Sedgley teams waiting for us.

Over six games played in total, Hoppers came away with two wins and four defeats.  Quite a number of the boys that had played the previous day were definitely showing signs of being tired from two days of rugby.  In the two victories there was some excellent rugby being played, everyone stepping up to the line and shouldering the responsibilities of defence and attack evenly across the board.  In the other four games, there were flashes of positivity across the board, with some great runs creating gaps and some superb tackling and as games went on there was more cohesion starting to form.

Overall a good morning of rugby, in great conditions.
