Under 10s have edge over Vale

Date: 02 March 2016

Following yet another a week off due to the weather, finally some drier weather meant that the pitches were fit and games were on.  The week brought with it the challenge of a Vale of Lune squad who were definitely up for the scrap, sometimes in more ways than one.

Throughout what has been a very stop/start season, the under 10’s have had varying degrees of success dealing with the games following an off week.  This time round some of the squad dealt a lot better than others.  Overall there are definite signs of improvement across the squad, with occasional lapses in concentration causing them problems.

There are some really encouraging signs starting to show, that a lot of the boys now understand how they can influence a game without the ball, just as much as they can with the ball, with some good attacking shape starting to form.  Defensively the boys can still be caught very narrow at times, with everyone hungry to get the ball back.

Overall, this was a really a tale of two halfs across all games, with two very good wins, two very hard fought and scrappy draws and one loss, but one very happy and very tired squad of players, following a great mornings graft.
