Aldwinians U13s 20 Hoppers U13s 7
Hoppers Under 14s faced a re-arranged away trip to Aldwinians in their Round 4 match in the Blacksticks Blue Junior Challenge cup.
Hoppers made a sluggish start against Aldwinians and let them run in 3 pretty easy tries before they got going. During the remainder of the first half Hoppers slowly started to come back into it but conceded another try just before the break against the run of play.
In the second half Hoppers took control and had the lions share of possession and territory thanks to sterling work from the forwards who repeatedly drove up the pitch through multiple phases of rucks and mauls. However due to strong Aldwinians defence Hoppers were only able to convert that possession into 1 converted try.
Final score was 20 – 7 to Aldwinians. The result means that Fylde, Aldwinians and Hoppers are all now equal on points at the top of the pool – points difference is going to count in the last two games!
