Fylde Coast Rugby Ultra

Date: 17 August 2015

The Fylde Coast Rugby Ultra will take place on Saturday 22nd August 2015.

It is a 35-mile personal challenge and involves me running from Preston Grasshoppers RFC to Fylde RFC negotiating Thornton Cleveleys, Fleetwood and Blackpool Rugby Club’s on route. The challenge combines my love of rugby and running with the memories of playing rugby at the Fylde Coast clubs with Ben Trend and many other friends over the years.

I’m doing this challenge in support of the BenTrendGetInvolvedFoundation, a cause very close to my heart, who as many of you know support local sports clubs and individuals. My aim is to raise money specifically for Fylde Sharks Disability Swimming Club who are based at Kirkham and St.Annes YMCA pools.

Fylde Sharks is a charity community club which uniquely offers 1-to-1 swimming lessons to disabled children up to 18 years old in the Fylde area with varying degrees of disability. Children with complex physical disabilities to those with social, cognitive and behavioural needs can enjoy swimming lessons with a qualified swimming teacher which provides mental stimulation and improved physical mobility.
